5 events you can't miss at Andaras Traveling Film Festival

Not only cinema but also aperitifs, concerts by the sea, territorial explorations and much more.

Like every year, Andaras Traveling Film Festival tries to create opportunities for meeting and discoveing. This year we have a broad agenda, some friends of the festival returning, but also newcomers that we can't wait to introduce you.

But let's not waste time, the suitcase is ready, and the plane is about to take off, here are the five events you can't miss at Andaras Traveling Film Festival 2022:

1. Aperitif with Chef Rubio

A grand opening for the fourth edition of the festival: an aperitif with Gabriele Rubini, aka Chef Rubio, and Daniela Bruni, who will present their project on food on the journey of migrants from Africa to Italy in the 21st century.

On this subject there are still no specific studies and documentary sources, which is why Rubio has carried out a series of interviews at the social reception spaces in Rome for immigrants from Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Senegal and Zimbabwe.

An important opportunity to learn the stories of those who have travelled, to discover the flavours, memories and aromas of distant foods.

When: Monday, July 11, 6:30 pm

Where: Parco Riola, Fluminimaggiore

Access: free

2. Concert on the beach with Safir Nou

The Safir Nou project presents its new album Liminal in concert at Andaras, in the wonderful setting of San Niccolò Beach at sunset.

Liminal tells the journey of migration, expressed in all its aspects: suspension, expectation, hope, the search for another condition, a moment between the “no more” and the “not yet”. Instrumental compositions and moments of improvisation remind of Mediterranean, Saharan and Northern European landscapes and suggestions.

An event not to be missed for those who want to enjoy the beach even in the evening, accompanied by excellent music that moves between jazz, pop rock and world music.

When: Thursday, July 14, 7:30 pm

Where: San Nicolò Beach, Buggerru

Access: free

3. Slow Food dinner in collaboration with Babeuf

This year as well, we have organised a dinner in collaboration with Slow Food Italia, but this time is joining us Babeuf, a small bistro located in the lively Villanova district in Cagliari. Our friends from Babeuf will use the raw materials of the producers of the Fluminese area, reworking them in a contemporary key while recalling the Sardinian tradition.

Among the food products, you will taste traditional cheeses and bakery products, wines, olives, smoked products and products based on the research of local herbs and spontaneous plants.

When: Friday, July 15, 8:30 pm

Where: Parco Riola, Fluminimaggiore

Access: by reservation (for info experience@andarasfilmfestival.it)

4. Photo exhibition

Like every year, the streets of the centre of Fluminimaggiore will be populated by images of distant places and landscapes. This year, the photographic exhibition will be dedicated to the Polar Quest project, a scientific expedition that circumnavigated the Svalbard archipelago, where the crew carried out some sampling of microplastics.

The expedition, aboard the eco-sustainable sailboat Nanuq, ended on August 22, 2018 after having travelled for 2,500 miles, in navigation conditions favoured by the exceptionally hot summer and the ice-free sea.

An opportunity to reflect and learn more about the now evident consequences of climate change and man-made environmental pollution.

When: from July 10, presentation on Saturday, July 16, 7:00 pm

Where: Fluminimaggiore

Access: free

5. Yoga on the beach

Finally, to start the day on the right foot, don't miss the morning yoga class at San Niccolò Beach in Buggerru.

A practice offered by Giada Righini, a Hatha Yoga teacher, which will focus on refreshing body and breathing practices, excellent for the summer!

When: Thursday, July 14, 8:30 am

Where: San Nicolò Beach, Buggerru

Access: reserved for accredited people (for info experience@andarasfilmfestival.it)
