The Program

Thursday 17 July 2025 / 09:00 am - 01:00 pm

1st MEETING

Screenplay

by Lucio Besana

Simulating the dynamics of a writing room, the Masterclass offers a practical approach to the conception and development of a story, with a focus on mythical narration and narrative structure.

Writing often means asking the right questions. Alternating theoretical insights, practical moments and group feedback, the Masterclass aims to provide participants with the minimum technical tools to conceive and make a story work.

Friday 18 July 2025 / 09:00 am - 01:00 pm

2nd MEETING

Direction

by Andrea Zuliani

How do you go from being a teenager passionate about cinema to working on a real set and shooting your own film? There could be many answers, but if you look closely, there aren't that many. Of course, it takes passion, perseverance and a certain amount of luck. Or maybe all of these things at the same time. The masterclass will investigate all of this and answer some questions that especially young aspiring directors have always asked themselves over the years. From film schools to apprenticeship in the directing department, from shooting a short film with friends to looking for a producer to embark on a common path. Until you discover that getting to shoot a film is perhaps not a point of arrival but only a new beginning and that it has much more to do with your own view of the world rather than knowing how to shout "Action!" at the right moment.

Saturday, July 19, 2025 / 09:00 am - 01:00 pm

3rd MEETING

Film Production

by Matteo Urbinati (Brandon Box)

From the documentary La Foresta Imperiale to the film Prophecy, Matteo Urbinati shares his journey from videomaker to producer, explaining how to develop a project, build a production strategy and face the challenges of the set, the budget and the market.
